Momoka Kawaragi (河原木 桃香 Kawaragi Momoka) is a main character in Girls Band Cry. She is the leader of and lead guitarist for Togenashi Togeari.
Profile[]
Momoka is a 20 year-old street musician with a straightforward and tomboyish personality. She dislikes feminine attire and opts for plain and simple hairstyles and clothing. She has a cheerful and caring nature, exuding the aura of a reliable senior member in a sports team. In the past she was a member of the band Diamond Dust, but later left the band.
On occasion, she can be seen drinking heavily. This resulted in having her throw up in a toilet the morning after while being hung over, or having to be dragged or carried home on a few occasions.
Momoka and Nina often clash with each other over disagreements. In Episode 8, things would turn physical between Momoka and Nina. Momoka would hold Nina in a menacing pose where she was threatening to punch Nina due to Nina being annoying and overdramatic. Later on near the end of the same episode, Nina would slap Momoka. Overall, Momoka tends to have a neutral relationship and disposition with Rupa, Subaru, and Tomo. Sometimes, Momoka may get irritated with Subaru, but it is never as extreme as it is with Nina.

Appearance[]
Momoka, as described in her official introduction, embraces a tomboyish persona. She sports a stylish silver chalice-colored hair with asymmetrical bangs, styled in a slanted haircut and has amethyst smoke-colored eye.
Trivia[]
- Momoka's birthplace and backstory on how she became a singer is most likely a homage to Kōji Tamaki, one of the most famous Japanese male singers and the vocalist of rock band Anzen Chitai. Both were born in Asahikawa, Hokkaido and they both also quit school to form the band at very young age.
- As demonstrated in episode 7, Momoka does not know how to drive a vehicle with a manual transmission. When attempted, she stalled the car within the first five seconds. As a result, Rupa asked the group who was in favor of a changing the driver, which Nina, Subaru, and Tomo all raised their hands in agreeance.
- Momoka has ophidiophobia (fear of snakes)
- Momoka plays a blue Psychomaster 2 by Psychederhythm, which is Japanese-made Fender Jazzmaster clone. The logo is visible on the headstock in Key Visual 2.[2] They largely make custom guitars, so there isn't a standard model that it matches up against

By comparing the weekdays on her calendar with the real-world calendar, it can be logically assumed that the events of the anime take place between 2024 and 2025. When Momoka first meets Nina in March 2024, she mentions that she is 20 years old. This suggests that she turned 21 in December of the same year, making her birth year in 2003.
